RSS has become an exciting new way to get information safe and fast. RSS stands for Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndicate. The purpose of RSS is to provide a way for you to check for new content on your favorite Web sites without having to visit the site yourself.
An example:
You visit buyDazzle.com and find great prices on Diamond and Gemstone jewelry. You find a ring style you really like but it's out of stock or out of your budget. Rather than continuing to visit the site to check stock or pricing, you could subscribe to our feed for newly listed products and the information would be brought to you.
Currently, our feeds are limited to four main categories (Rings, Pendants, Earrings, Bracelets). Only the hottest selling jewlry will be available through these feeds. Our Newsletter feed will be used to deliver new arrivals or featured items. As RSS generates interest, we will provide more feeds to you.
RSS Readers (also called an Aggregator):
There are many RSS feed readers available to you now. We recomend using Microsoft Internet Explorer 2007 or higher to use our feeds. Microsoft integrated a basic, easy-to-use RSS reader into their browser knowing that RSS was going to be a very effective way to deliver information and news.
Microsoft provides an online article about RSS and how to use it here:
RSS 101: Get online articles delivered to you
Other Readers We suggest:
Microsoft Outlook 2007 (built in reader)
Google Reader (requires registration)
Yahoo (requires registration)
Windows Live (requires registration)
NewsGator (requires registration)
BottomFeeder (FREE Download)
Sage for Firefox (Firefox Extension)
Facebook (requires registration)
MySpace (requires registration)
NOTE: The Internet has been undergoing new and exciting changes as community-based Web sites become more popular. RSS is now built into most community sites or made available through FREE extendable mini applications. If you are currently a facebook user, you can add an application called BlogRSSFeed Reader by LinkBisto. It's easy and provides a powerful way to share your information with others using facebbok.
